Going out into nature together, discovering, gathering and cooking from the earth
There's something that happens to children (and adults too) when they go out into the field.
The pace changes. Curiosity is aroused. Hands touch the ground.
The family foraging trip invites you to a shared experience of walking in a green forest, encountering flowing water, getting to know edible wild plants — and cooking a shared meal from the nature around us.
This is not just an activity in nature.
This is an opportunity to stop for a moment, be together, and let children learn through movement, touch, taste, and experience.
Where is the trip taking place?
3 excellent areas (chosen according to the season and abundance found):
- Ramot Menashe
- South Mount Carmel
- Ben Shemen Forest
The area combines shady forest, comfortable walking trails, and open spaces.

The activity is carried out in small groups, with a lot of attention to the children and the environment.
What plants will we collect?
The collection varies by season, and usually includes common and safe wild plants such as:
• Hubiza
• Wild mustard
• Nettle (with proper guidance and guidance)
• Wild keeper
• Za'atar and other herbs
The emphasis on the trip is on getting to know the plant, smelling it, touching it, and tasting it.
And what do you cook together in nature?
After gathering, we will set up a pleasant field camp and prepare a meal together from the plants we collected.
We usually prepare:
• Pita bread on the saj
• Simple stuffed wild leaves

• Fresh herbal tea from the field
Cooking is done together — children and parents participate, learn, and enjoy the process.
